Rainbow in the trees

Early in the morning, when we sit on the veranda and have breakfast, we always observe the birds jumping around in our oleander bushes and the neighbours' banana trees. Their colours are just magnificent - believe it or not, the 4 million city of Dar es Salaam is actually a very important birding area!

Small, cute and NOT a steak - blue-capped cordon bleu

Our favourite, a narcissistic beauty, who comes each morning to watch herself in Stefan's motorbike and pecks the hard metal as if kissing it

Our second favourite, a small parrot, apparently called a lovebird (seriously!)
